SKC werkt met een selectieperiode voor nieuwe leden. Na de jaarlijkse El Cid introductieweek worden er drie weken lang selectietrainingen georganiseerd. Voor deze trainingen kun je je online of in de EL CID aanmelden. Aanmelden kan door het interesseformulier in te vullen op de 'Meld je hier aan'-pagina, of door te mailen naar Dit e-mailadres wordt beveiligd tegen spambots. JavaScript dient ingeschakeld te zijn om het te bekijken.. 

De selectietrainingen zijn toegankelijk voor iedereen die interesse heeft om bij SKC te komen volleyballen. Tijdens deze trainingen kun je proberen hoe het is om te volleyballen (bij SKC) en kun je de Technische Commissie laten zien wat je niveau is. Op deze manier word je vervolgens in het juiste team ingedeeld. Om in aanmerking te komen voor een lidmaatschap dien je je voor het einde van de derde week ingeschreven te hebben bij het bestuur van SKC (let op: dit betekent niet dat je al lid bent bij SKC, maar laat enkel zien dat je lid wilt worden). Omdat er maar een beperkt aantal plekken voor leden beschikbaar is bij SKC, kunnen wij helaas niet alle geïnteresseerden een plekje bij SKC bieden. Aanwezigheid en motivatie spelen daarom een belangrijke rol tijdens de selectieperiode. 

SKC Studentenvolleybal nodigt potentiële nieuwe leden op twee momenten gedurende het seizoen uit. De eerste periode is de hierboven beschreven selectieperiode na de EL CID. Mochten er plaatsen vrijkomen gedurende het seizoen, dan is er ook in januari na de winterstop een periode waarin geïnteresseerden worden uitgenodigd.

Er zijn verschillende soorten lidmaatschappen mogelijk bij SKC:

• Heel jaar competitie €86,-, inclusief trainingen en wedstrijden
• Half jaar competitie €56,-, halfjaar (sept-dec, jan-apr) trainingen en wedstrijden
• Trainingslid €56,-, heel jaar trainingen
• Verenigingslid €20,-, toegang tot feesten en andere activiteiten van SKC

Als lid van SKC dien je daarnaast ook altijd een jaarabonnement af te sluiten bij het Universitair Sportcentrum. Informatie daarover kun je vinden op de website van het USC Leiden of via deze link.

Beachvolleybal
Het is niet mogelijk om alleen beachvolleyballid te worden. SKC is een indoor-volleybalvereniging. Als iets extra’s, bieden wij onze leden wel beachvolleybaltrainingen en een interne beachcompetitie aan nadat de reguliere indoorcompetitie voorbij is (beachvolleybal dus vanaf mei tot begin juli). Hier is dus geen apart lidmaatschap voor. Om mee te doen aan deze trainingen moet je eerst als SKC-lid zijn toegelaten. Je kunt wel vrij beachvelden reserveren om zelf te beachvolleyballen als je een USC abonnement hebt. Deze beachvelden zijn namelijk beschikbaar voor iedereen met dergelijk abonnement.

SKC works with a selection period for new members. After the annual EL CID introduction week, three weeks of selection practices will take place. For these practices you can register online or in the EL CID. These practices are open to everyone who is interested in joining SKC volleyball. During these practices you can experience what it's like to play volleyball (at SKC) and you can show the Technical Committee (TC) what your level is. Based on these practices, the TC will assign you to the right team. In order to be eligible for a membership you need to register with the SKC board before the end of the third week (Please note: this does not mean that you are already a member of SKC, but only shows that you want to become a member). Because there is only a limited number of places available for members at SKC, unfortunately we cannot offer a place at SKC to all those who are interested. Presence and motivation therefore play an important role during the selection period. 

SKC invites potential new members at two moments during the season. The first period is the selection period described above after the EL CID. Should there be any open spots during the season, people who are interested will be invited after the winter break in January to fill these spots.

There are different types of memberships possible at SKC:

• Full year competition €86,-, including practices and competitions
• Half year competition €56, half year (sept-dec, jan-apr) practices and competitions
• Practice member €56,-, full year practice
• Association member €20, access to parties and other activities of SKC

As a member of SKC, you need an annual subscription at the University Sports Centre. Information about this can be found on the website of USC Leiden or via this link.

Beachvolleyball
It is not possible to become a beach volleyball member only. SKC is an indoor volleyball club. As an extra, we do offer our members beach volleyball training and an internal beach competition after the regular indoor competition is over (so, beach volleyball from May to early July). There is no separate membership for this. To participate in these training sessions, you must first be admitted as an SKC member. You can however book beach fields freely to play beach volleyball on if you have a USC subscription. These beach fields are available for anyone with such a subscription.
